City Council Conundrum
It is currently 10:50pm and the Fayetteville City Council meeting, which started at 7 this evening- is still going on. I have been to a couple meetings that lasted less than an hour- one even less than 30 minutes. It makes me wonder why the meetings cannot be organized to last a regular length of time- but I'm sure there are tons of reasons why it happens like this. Business may garner significantly less resistance and input and understanding from the public if it is handled after 9:30pm. I should know, because I left around 9:15 this evening- 135 minutes of City Council was just enough for me today. People often leave as soon as their particular topic of interest is addressed. Next up on the docket, at 10.2: Tax Refunds of Less than $100. I would like to share lots of details about todays council meeting tomorrow- please stay tuned. In a nutshell, choosing a replacement for Councilman Meredith amongst the membership was not as easy as I thought it could be: imagine that.

I Get Around
Every day I try to do something outside the box to provide life experiences and learn from other people. In the last few days I have been pretty happy with the assortment of things that I've been able to do. Here is the rundown and I'll give you some more details and insights on these experiences as I can get to it:
Friday December 3: Company X-Mas party in Southern Pines at Ashten's. Carpool with Julie
Saturday: WingMen Toy Run starting at Sycamore Dairy Road. Started Flip Video career
Sunday: Singing Christmas Tree at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church
Monday: City Council planning session. 5-8:05
Tuesday: Toastmasters Debut
Wednesday: Heart of Carolina Food Drive + CAH with Molly, Nick, Ben, Jeremy, Jeff
Thursday: Casino Christmas
Friday: ......
Saturday: HCC Xmas party with LaFayette Cotillion and SOCIAL
Sunday: Downtown Loft Tour
I am working on getting my interviewing career going and working on scheduling. After purchasing a Flip Video on Black Friday I may have found my favorite interest. As if I didn't already know.

Cee Lo's Grammy Nom
You driving round town with the girl I love and I'm like..........
If you don't know the rest then google it and you will get the message. It's borderline hilarious and the fact that it has become a mainstream hit with over 29 million views of the music video is mind boggling. Personally I think that this phenomenon lends itself to the fact that Americans are more than a little bit giddy about telling somebody off and having no regard for someone else's feelings. Lately its to the point of en epidemic. A tone of moderation, coordination and teamwork are long gone in the real world and asking your every day person to hop into another pair of shoes and live a little bit deprived won't be an easy sell. At the end of the day Cee Lo's song is catchy and easy to sing and a whole lot of fun- but why?
Around Christmas time you see outpourings of good hearted giving and contributions to every charity under the sun. People take pride in showing their kindness for the needy around the holidays in cahoots with it getting cold and keeping people warm. Food, Toys and Warmth are all things that we should consider giving away as much as we can this month to make some less fortunate people a little bit happier. It's the opposite of Cee Lo's top track- but I certainly don't mind if you keep on singing.
I am looking forward to working the HEART OF CAROLINA FOOD DRIVE tomorrow at Harris Teeter on Raeford Road. Come out and bring a couple canned goods!
